We describe exactly what we do and exactly what we don't. Healthcare administrators deserve specifics, not badges.
Shipments involving patient-related information are handled with discretion: sealed and labeled by the shipping party, kept out of public view, and released only to the intended recipient or an authorized designee. ZipMed makes no blanket privacy or HIPAA certification claim — our workflows are designed to respect the sensitivity of what we carry, and our booking form asks for no diagnoses, test results, or unnecessary patient medical information.
Each shipment is logged at pickup and again at delivery, with the responsible driver identified for the duration of transport. Custody stays with one accountable person from origin to destination on point-to-point runs.
ZipMed transports routine clinical specimens and appropriately packaged Category B biological substances where requirements are met — including blood, urine, other routine diagnostic specimens, and veterinary specimens. Your facility prepares and tenders the material in appropriate sealed, labeled, transport-ready packaging; ZipMed carries it in a dedicated professional specimen carrier under your documented handling instructions. ZipMed is not a laboratory packaging service.
Temperature-controlled transport is offered only where ZipMed has confirmed the required range and the appropriate equipment and process for that specific shipment. We do not advertise universal cold-chain capability. Handling, packaging, and temperature instructions are documented before pickup.
Timestamped pickup and delivery records, recipient confirmation, and signature or photo capture where the delivery calls for an accountable handoff. Packages are not left unattended unless your organization explicitly authorizes it and the shipment is appropriate for unattended delivery.
Materials, packaging, access requirements, timing, and special handling are reviewed before service. Where a requirement falls outside what ZipMed supports today, we say so directly instead of improvising.
What you receive
Live vehicle tracking is not part of ZipMed's service today.

Pickup is captured with a timestamp.
Delivery is captured with a timestamp, recipient, and signature or photo where appropriate.
An automatic confirmation, receipt, and proof of delivery are sent back to you.

Claims we do not make
ZipMed does not represent itself as HIPAA certified, nor does it make a blanket HIPAA compliance marketing claim. ZipMed claims no medical-waste authority, no Category A infectious-substance handling capability, and no universal cold-chain capability. Shipment eligibility is subject to qualification and applicable requirements. Handling, packaging, and temperature requirements are confirmed before pickup.
